The Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC) is proud to announce the 9th Annual Fire on the Plains (FOTP). This event will be held from April 9–12, 2026, at Otero College and the La Junta Fire Department Training Grounds. FOTP offers high-quality, low-cost training designed for everyone from entry-level recruits to seasoned professionals.
The 2026 curriculum provides a dynamic, hands-on environment to help individuals and teams expand their knowledge and work toward state certification maintenance. This year’s diverse range of coursework includes:

The full four-day program costs $250 and includes seven meals. Single-day and two-day options are also available starting at $25. To support our local partners, registering Colorado departments receive a 50% discount while funds last! Please note that all students must be affiliated with a public safety agency and are responsible for providing their own PPE and SCBA.
